Smart Meters

The UK Government has an agenda to roll out ‘Smart meters’ by 2020. These new meters work by wirelessly transmitting a continuous stream of usage data to the utility company and to the consumer via a digital display. Proponents claim that clear visibility of usage leads to reduced bills. These meters enable real-time remote monitoring of total and individual appliance usage and remote supply disconnection. They also provide for future demand-based time-of-use billing and remote appliance control/switch-off.

However… there are serious health, safety, environmental and security concerns, arising principally from the continuous bursts of high intensity microwave radiation emitted by the meters.
